Mumbai, Nov 4: In an scathing attack, Congress leader Narayan Rane said on Tuesday that though Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis was an honest man, he lacked administrative acumen.
He added that Fadanvis did not have the smartness to run a government and that he would not be able to do anything on his own as he will have to wait for orders from Delhi..
"Fadnavis is an honest, sincere man, but lacks administrative acumen. His Cabinet is bereft of experienced persons like Eknath Khadse. The ministry fails to impress and it does not appear if the government would be able to fulfil the peoples` expectations," Rane told media, as per IANS.
At the same time Rane called upon Fadnavis to refrain from talking about separating Vidarbha from Maharashtra, or he "can quit". "Fadnavis is the CM of Maharashtra. He should not talk about a separate Vidarbha. If he wants to split the state, then he should first quit his post and then talk about separating Vidarbha," Rane said sternly. The Congress leader also attacked Shiv Sena asking them as to why were they now going with Afzal Khan's army and said that if Bal Thackeray had been alive, he would have refused power and sat in the opposition. Sena chief Uddhav had equated BJP and Narendra Modi's team as Afzal Khan's army during the course of campaign for Assembly elections in Maharashtra. Rane further alleged that there was a pre-poll understanding between NCP and BJP. Talking about himself he clarified that he had never hankered after any post and that he had never thought of joining the BJP. Moreover, he said that after the Congress-NCP alliance had broken, everyone had already accepted defeat. On the controversy regarding the vanishing of Rs 10 crore which was meant for Maharashtra Assembly polls, Rane said that Prithviraj Chavan should be questioned about it as it was CM's job to make sure that the money reached the candidate.
