Early Times Report

Doda, Nov 4: All India Shiksha Sangharsh Yatra-2014 launched by Prof Haragopal and AISF national president Syed Vali Ullah at Kaniyakumari Tamilnadu.
Addressing on the occasion, Prof Haragopal said India's education system facing insidious assault from the twin dangers of neo-liberal corporate capital and communal-fascist forces along with entrenched upper-caste and patriarchal domination, there is an ever pressing need for building a strong resistance.
He said that be it deteriorating condition of government schools; auctioning/closing/sale of government schools; policies encouraging privatization at all levels of education; policies promoting plunder of our pockets and public funds by private education shops; attacks on democratic spaces of the universities and the banning of teachers', students' and employees' unions; increasing contractual system of teachers; plans to introduce sectarian, majoritarian and anti-people communal-fascist ideas, beliefs and practices in curriculum in name of "Indian values", the list of communal-fascist and neo-liberal attacks on education is endless. With the objective of building a protracted struggle to resist commercialization and communalization of education and to establish a fully free and state-funded Common Education System that is capable of realizing a just, democratic, secular, socialist and humane society in our country, All India Forum for Right to Education (AIFRTE), along with its member and fraternal organizations like Aisf , is organizing an All India Shiksha Sangharsh Yatra-2014.
