11/4/2014 10:55:12 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 4 : The Indian Army has tightened security and ensured round-the-clock vigil in Kashmir ahead of the five-phased assembly polls after a suicide bomber blew himself up near the Wagah border on the Pakistan side, which left around 60 people dead and several injured.
General, S.T. Upasni (General Officer Commanding (GOC), Victor Force), said security has been beefed up after the Wagah border incident and the forces will ensure safe elections in Kashmir.
"I can assure you that we are aware about all that is going on and we are taking steps to make sure that next few weeks are totally safe and we will ensure safe elections. We are assuming too much that Wagah border incident or those things will happen here. I can assure you once again that these incidents will not happen," he said.
The five-phased polls in Jammu and Kashmir will begin on November 25 and end on December 20. The results would be announced on December 23.
