Kathua Dec 6: The three Wings of NCC viz. Armoured, Naval and Infantry wing (Girls) in Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua launched a special drive to raise funds/donations with regard to the "Flag Day" which falls on December 7 and is celebrated every year throughout the country. According to college spokesperson, the drive commenced from the Principal's Chamber wherein NCC Cadets from 1 J&K Armd. Sqn NCC, 1 J&K Naval and 2nd J&K Infantry (Girls) presented the Flag to the Principal Dr B L Gupta. Speaking on this occasion, Dr B L Gupta exhorted upon the students and staff to donate liberally in order to boost the morale of the Defence forces. The drive was organized under the supervision of Associate NCC Officers Lt Jaswinder Singh, Lt Sandeep Chaudhary and Prof Madhavi Manohar Lal who were also present on this occasion. Later the flags were presented to the other faculty members and college students, who also made their contributions and an amount of Rs 6527/- was collected by the NCC cadets which shall be deposited to Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Kathua. |
