Goons attack J&K students in Haryana college, several hospitalized | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

KISHTWAR, Dec 6: Over one dozen students hailing from different parts of the Jammu and Kashmir perusing engineering from Global Research Institute for Management and Technology in Radhore Tehsil of Yamuna Nagar district of Haryana were attacked by goons. The students, according to sources had to be hospitalized while nearly 100 students escaped from the college premises and took shelter in nearby police station after some local goons and outsiders entered in college mess and beat them with rods and sticks, besides displaying guns. As per the details available with "Early times", the episode took place at around 1 PM today when the students were lined up for lunch. Victim students informed the "Early times" that few outsiders entered into the mess and broke the line as several students were already lined up for lunch. They said that on asking them to wait for their routine turn, these goons turned violent and started thrashing them. They said that after hurdling abuse on them, these goons left the premises. They said that after knowing about their Kashmiri identity, these goons after sometime once again appeared in the premises with guns, iron rods and sticks and started beating them mercilessly. They said that these goons with the help of local Sarpanch chased them at least 5 KM forcing many of them to take shelter in nearby police station. They said that over two dozen students were hospitalized and condition of few among them is critical. They said that police also showed reluctance in taking the action against the goons who attacked them. They said that Director of the College M.S.Shalina also did not respond and failed to persuade the case of students before police, added that Director of the College turn blind eye towards the injured students and allow them to die. They said that many students were in state of shock and are not willing to go back to college facing threat to their life. They alleged that college authorities failed to provide security to the students as the same has become home to goons and local criminals. Many students fail to report back to hostel when last reports came in. When Early Times tried to contact Director of the College, her mobile number was found out of networking area. |
