Jammu, Dec 6: Nav-chetna, Nature Club of Government Degree College, Udhampur arranged a lecture on “Climate Change-Challenges and Role of Youth in its Mitigation” sponsored by WWF for Nature India. According to press release, the lecture was delivered by Rajeshwar Singh Jasrotia, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu. Jasrotia in his address stressed that the increase in Co2 in the earth’s atmosphere at alaming rate leads to Climate Change and impacts the life of hundreds of millions of small and marginal farmers and people depending upon forests. Besides Climate Change intensify that variability of monsoon dynamics. He suggested various step our youth to mitigates the challenges of climate change. Prof S.S. Bhalwal, Principal of the college, Dr Udhey Banu, Prof. Javed Sarver & Dr. Bhandana, Atya Prevez and Kusum Lata were present during the lecture. Earlier Prof G R Verma, Advisor Nature Club welcome the resource person and highlighted the achievements of the club during the past three years.
