4394 cases settled in National Lok Adalat at Kishtwar

Jammu, Dec 7 : A National Lok Adalat was organized in District Court Complex Kishtwar under the Chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kishtwar, Bala Jyoti wherein 12 benches were constituted to deal with Revenue Cases, Civil Cases, Labour Cases, Criminal Cases of compoundable in nature, Cases under MV Act, Matrimonial cases, Widow's Pension cases, Municipal challans, Victims compensation cases, MACT Cases, Bank Cases and Cases Of Handicap Persons.
All the officers of concerned Departments were part of benches, wherein more than four thousand cases were settled by way of Negotiation, Mediation and conciliation. Thousands of people were present on spot, and their matters and list pending before different forums were disposed of with the mutual consent of parties.
Earlier the National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Chairmanship DLSA Bala Jyoti Principal District and Session Judge Kishtwar. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan, SSP Kishtwar Youghal Manhas were also present on the occasion. All Bar Members, Revenue Officers, Bank officials, Labour officers, Police officers, Judicial officers were present.
While speaking on the occasion Ms. Jyoti apprised the general Public and litigants about concepts of Lok Adalat and their benefits to the litigants, whose cases are pending for last so many years due to cumbersome procedure.
The Lok Adalat was a huge success in hilly terrain of Kishtwar where people from Padder, Chatroo, Marwah, Warwan, Palmar and Dachhan reached to avail the benefits of National Lok Adalat. The Entire Programme was compared by advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain and vote of thanks was expressed by Adnan Syed Munsiff (JMIC) Kishtwar. During day long exercise 4394 cases were settled beside Rs 77, 65, 918 compensation was also sanctioned for various claims.
Among 4394 cases settled today, 3285 cases were settled by Principal District and Session Judge Kishtwar. Meanwhile a similar National Lok Adalat was held today in the premises of Munsiff court Gandoh Bhalessa which was presided over by Munsiff Judge Sandeep Sen Chairman Tehsil Legal Service and Advocate Avtar Krishan Kotwal. Around 20 cases of civil and criminal nature were taken up in the Lok Adalat out of which 13 Cases were disposed off on spot by mediation, conciliation and negotiation. Traffic challans in addition were also taken up and all of them were disposed off with a recovery of compounding fee of Rs 5350 on the spot. Lok Adalat witnessed a cheering response from litigants who come forward to settle their long pending disputes escaping the ruinous cost of litigation and technical problems.
