CISF trooper sustain injuries in Tral grenade attack | | | Saahil Suhail
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 7: A CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) trooper sustained minor injuries after militants hurled a grenade on a school building in which the forces were camping for poll duty in South Kashmir's Noorpora Tral area. Official sources said that the militants this evening hurled a grenade at the E-Coy of 508 Central Industrial Security Forces near Higher Secondary School in Noorpora village of the volatile Tral. They said that in the grenade attack one CISF trooper identified as R K Rajak received minor injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment. The CISF Company is stationed in the area for the upcoming elections, officials told Early Times. Tral Assembly segment is going to polls on December 9. Security forces cordoned off the area after the attack and a search operation was launched in the village. This attack ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Srinagar is a challenge for the security forces as the intelligence agencies have already alarmed that such kind of militant attacks will take place. After the bloody Friday in which 21 people, mostly government forces, were killed in militant attacks in the Kashmir Valley, a thick security blanket has been thrown around the valley for Modi's maiden election rally in Kashmir. Prime Minster Modi is scheduled to address a public rally in Srinagar's SK Stadium and will seek support for BJP candidates in assembly elections. |
