Kishtwar, Dec 7 : A day after their clash with locals over the alleged issue of raising anti-national slogans, several J&K students, some of whom were said to have sustained injuries, have fled a Haryana engineering college. The incident occurred at Global Research Institute for Management and Technology in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, yesterday. Some of the J&K students told Early Times on phone said they feared threat to their lives. They claimed that a minor issue that had erupted in the hostel was sorted out with the intervention of hostlers. The situation worsened after some outsiders came there and beat them up, they alleged. They alleged that police were not taking action against the locals who had beaten them up. "We demand a high level probe into the incident," they said. They also denied having raised anti-national slogans in the college premises.They said they were not sure if they would be allowed to continue their studies in the college or not. The incident had taken place yesterday at around 1 pm when the students were lined up for lunch. |
