Jammu, Dec 7: Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today criticized the Jammu University authorities, particularly the committee constituted to enquire the copying scandal in M.Ed examination in Directorate of Distance Education, for targeting a particular community and letting the main accused free from any action. Addressing media persons, General Secretary JYF Altaf Ahmed said that in 2013, a student was caught copying in DDE along with a book, who was consequently suspended for two years. "A contractual lecturer Dr. Narseema and Professor Darshana Sharma were on duty, in front of which the accused was copying. The partial attitude of authorities and the enquiry committee could be gauged from a fact that contractual lecture Dr. Narseema was terminated but no action has been taken against Professor Darshana Sharma, and surprisingly, she was against reinstated as Coordinator of M.Ed DDE", he said. He further said that the accused and the contractual lecturer who belonged to same community were targeted while others were spared. However, during enquiry of the entire episode, the contractual lecturer Dr. Nasreen had informed that she was forced the Coordinator, Darshana Sharma, to allow the M.Ed student Mohammad Iqbal, to do mass copying, due to reasons best known to Darshana Sharma, he said, adding that despite the fact no action has been taken against Darshana Sharma, which was totally unfair. |
