YCET organizes workshop on 'Aggregates for Mortar and Concrete' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 29: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) today organised a workshop cum guest lecture on 'Aggregates for Mortar and Concrete' which was delivered by Technical Head Ambuja (P) Ltd. Engineer Amit Pandita. According to press release, the session began with a welcome addresses by Engineer Rajnish Magotra and Dean Academic Affairs YCET Engineer BR Verma. While, Amit Pandita briefed to the students about significance of aggregates in mortar and concrete and said that 75 percent of structure contains Aggregates with only 7-8 percent cement. "So it is very essential to know the characteristics of good aggregates for building and other allied Civil Engineering works and shape, size and texture of aggregates do matter in the construction work, "he stated. He interacted with the students and showcased world's tallest structure Burj Khalifa at UAE. He stated that now was the age of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) which is fully balanced concrete and withstands pressure under any weathering conditions. Among others who presented on the occasion included Dinesh Gupta, COD Applied Sciences, Iqbal Singh Ahluwalia, TPO, coordinated the session. |
