Ram Madhav holds meeting with BJP MLAs, some legislators raise demand of 'Hindu CM' | | | Arun Singh
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 29: Political hues have always some underlying essence that seldom surfaces on the fore. And when such colors brighten, there is all likelihood of producing some halo effects. Same is the situation that has taken the control of government formation in Jammu and Kashmir while the fractured mandate holds the political hue here and the various permutations and combinations daily throwing up giving enough space to speculate. However, while the key to government formation is held by two major outfits in BJP and PDP, with a general opinion favoring both tying the nuptial knot for government celebrations, a high-profile meet held today at 17 Miles by the BJP cadre here presided over by its national organization secretary has thrown up a new challenge . The meet ended on a high note for a demand of Hindu Chief Minister by the MLAs. Nothing short of which they have said to be their price to buy in government formation. If sources are to be believed, since Ram Madhav's failure in Srinagar to make any dent in the elections to bring home even a single seat from valley, it is being understood that he has held the BJP MLAs meet with a verdict coming from them that nothing short of a Hindu CM would satiate their first time entry into the state politics and that too in the driving seat. Such clamor raised by the BJP MLAs, though not only picked up from the thin air, is supposed to be based upon some ground digging by the BJP which it is sure of making a government of its own majority and that too with a majority lead. "It is not only PDP and BJP now. More options are available with us. NC too is not impregnable and we are taking more other options too into our consideration," said one of the senior MLA who attended the Ram Madhav meet at 17 Miles. If PDP think it is indispensable, it is treading the wrong notion. BJP has a major count of nearly 35 MLAs and we are now open with more option to explore best possible arrangement. "But a Hindu CM is our main demand," he said. The sources privy to Ram Madhav meet said that as PDP-BJP is holding against truce on certain crucial issues, BJP is on the job to create another front that satisfies its need for government formation of choice. It is pertinent to mention here that Ladakh had given a BJP MP in the Lok sabha elections, but for assembly, it produced three Congress legislators and one independent that BJP was sore about. BJP's claim of 35 MLAs thus apparently shows that defection has taken place. When this goes public can be anytime now. NC leader and acting chief minister at London now have a broad smile that can turn into a power sharing laughter soon. |
