New Govt would be formed soon: Naqvi | BJP gives up Jammu CM demand | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 29: Indicating that Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is in no mood to let People’s Democratic Party (PDP) go, the BJP today softened its stand saying it is not necessary to have a Chief Minister from Jammu region. Talking to a Srinagar based news agency the BJP's senior leader and Mukhtar Abass Naqvi said, "Our concern is not that the Chief Minister must be from the Jammu region but the motive is that all the regions should get their due share for the stable government. BJP is committed to all the three regions of the Jammu and Kashmir." "See our leadership is in close contact with the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir for the government formation. BJP would not give up attempts to form the government in the state," he said and added that in the present scenario, a new government in JK is not possible without the BJP," Naqvi said. He said that though it was not clear mandate for any party after the poll results "but the fact is that the people in large numbers chose BJP and voted in large numbers for our party." "The people of Jammu and Kashmir are well aware about the sincerity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am sure that the people want that the BJP should form the government in Jammu and Kashmir. Within a few days the new government will start functioning in Jammu and Kashmir," he said. "The Prime Minister is keen to see the new stable government in Jammu and Kashmir which will provide good governance and work for development of all the three regions. BJP is not going to take any step which will hurt the general public of Jammu and Kashmir. BJP is secular party and people friendly party," he said. |
