Financial Commissioner I&C inaugurated NCEEITET-14 | | | Early Times Report jammu, Jan 9: A two days National Conference and Exhibition on Emerging and Innovative trends in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET-14) organized by Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) started today at GCET Campus, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu. The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir by illuminating the traditional lamp alongwith the other dignitaries. P. K. Tripathi, IAS, DG IMPA and Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, was the guest of honour and S. K. Sharma, Executive Director, PGCIL and Prof. Manoj Dhar, Registrar, Jammu University were the special guests on this occasion. In his address, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai spoke upon the science-society dynamics in the communication of Science and Technology and stressed upon the need for the participative and dialogue process between the industry and the student community for spreading the scientific temper in the development of the global economy. He congratulated Dr.Sameru Sharma, Principal of the College for providing such a platform which acts as a bridge between the educators, researchers and industry which in turn will harness the scientific temperament among the young enthusiastic minds and give a boost to the collaborative alliance for the research and development activities. P.K.Tripathi, DG IMPA and Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, while addressing the conference motivated the researchers, developers, technocrats and academicians to share their experiences and scientific information to resolve the relevant issues plan for the future growth for the well being and benefit of global society. He expressed that the students have a lot of potential and creative energy which needs to be harnessed in proper direction. Executive Director, PGCIL in his speech cherished the younger generation in taking responsibilities and wished for the growth of Indian economy through technological achievements. The key note address was delivered by G.B.Nagendra, on the innovative ideas and recent technologies adopted in the efficient functioning of railways. He emphasized the young students to come forward with creative thinking to strengthen the pace of technological development. Prof Manoj Dhar extended his thanks and best wishes to the Principal GCET Jammu for organizing the Conference. He emphasized on providing solutions for rural upliftment through innovation and promotion of collaborative research. Earlier in her welcome address, Principal GCET Dr.Sameru Sharma highlighted the aim of organizing such a national level technological driven event which is the first of its kind in the college. The conference aims to provide a common platform to the academicians, researchers and industry to share knowledge and exchange the innovative ideas in their respective fields. On this occasion, the proceedings of the conference were also released by the dignitaries. |
