| Chann Arorian residents stage protest demonstration against PDD | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 9: Angered ovewr frequent curtailment and low power supply in Mohalla Talab village Chann Arorian ,dozens of villagers today blocked National Highway at Chann Arorian under the leadership of Goldi Sharma and Shashi Kanta. The protesters torched an effigy and shouted slogan against PDD.
While addressing to protesters, Shashi Kanta who also led the protest said people are fed up to irregular power supply that affected lives of thousands of villagers who are suffered but department deliberately ignored their suffering. She said school children could not concentrate in study, difficult for minors to live comfortably.
The daily routine has been ceased and village converted into darkness. She said villagers roar before administration but nothing has been done in this regard to meet the demand of the people.
Goldi Sharma, a protester, alleged on PDD for not to replace the electric transformer that has been got out of order for more than a week but no action has been taken by administration.
SP Singh, SHO Rajbagh, rushed on the spot and tried to pacify the protesters. He ensured the protesters to proceed the matter to concern authority that further ensured to replace the transformer by evening.
Another prominent Bhola Nath Sharma, Baldev Raj, Suresh Mussla and many others spoke on the occasion and threatened to continue their protest unless department replace the transformer. |
