NSS camp concludes at GDC Ramnagar 2/5/2015 10:26:25 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 5: A 10 day long NSS Special Camp organized by the NSS Unit of GDC Ramnagar was concluded today with great fan fare. The Principal Prof. Kusam Gupta was the Chief Guest in the Programme and Prof. Barinder Singh was the guest of Honour. About 45 NSS volunteers participated in this camp under the guidance and supervision of Programme Officer Prof Kewal Kumar. The camp started on 27th Jan 2015 as Clean and Green Campus in which the Volunteers did a cleanliness drive in and around the college campus. In the preceding 9 days during the camp various activities were performed like Field Visits to the adopted village: THAPLAL, where the NSS Volunteers interacted with the people and certain schools in the village and studied the issues like Health, Hygiene, Education, Culture and Traditions as practiced in the village. Besides this the students also participated in poster making, slogan writing competitions as also debates on various important social issues on various days. During the camp the students as well as staff members visited govt. middle school Thaplal. About 12 orphans and poor students were identified by the NSS volunteers and were provided various things like Sweaters, Shoes, and Stationery.
