Jammu, Feb 5: Humming Buds the Pre-School of MIER today celebrated Science Week here at BC Road and Residency Road branches. According to press release, the celebrations included a plethora of specialized activities designed to spark the imagination of the children and expose them to the wonders of everyday science. The broad objective was to inculcate a scientific temper among the students and arouse their curiosity about how things work around them. Six age-relevant experiments were conducted by students of each class 'O' Level-Nursery, 'A' Level-LKG and 'A+' Level-UKG covering concepts like heavy and light, sink and float, bacteria formation, metals attract magnets, condensation, volcanic eruption etc. Natural phenomenon like tornados was also explained through videos and experiments. Also, exposure to soil, water, air, day and night, earth and the planets was provided through touch and feel and multimedia content. Finally, students were made aware of inventions like T.V.'s, Computers, Cars, Microwaves, Electricity, Mobile Phones, Automobiles which make our lives easier and comfortable. The concepts were also explained with the help of smart class. All the children were fully engaged and formed their own opinions and conclusions about the activities they saw which was greatly appreciated by their parents.
