Female scholars flay VC-JU for 'faux' claims of redressal of research scholars issues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5 : Contradicting claims of the Acting Vice Chancellor Jammu University that the issues of the research scholars have been redressed and scholar friendly conduct in the Jammu University, the female Scholars of the Jammu University alleged that the Acting VC was desperately indulged in personnel image building exercise, though issuing false claims. Speaking in a press conference convened here today a Senior Research Scholar Manali Sharma pointed that University authorities claimed that Acting Vice Chancellor was keen to develop friendly atmosphere between the scholars and the University administration and in this initiative he (VC-JU) organized a meeting with scholars to discuss the problems of the scholars. Countering the claim, she reminded JU authorities that meeting between Scholars and Vice Chancellor was not a new practice but is an exercise traditionally and introduced by former Vice Chancellor Dr Amitabh Matto and his successor Prof Varun Sahini as Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu during their tenure. Another Scholar Neha Kumari alleged that the meeting conducted by the acting VC was only aimed to impress the Governor NN Vohra, Chancellor, University of Jammu only. She appealed to the Chancellor, University of Jammu to direct University authorities to hold an open interaction session between Scholars and Vice Chancellor Jammu University outside the VC Chamber and sought personnel presence of the Chancellor University of Jammu and let the truth come out. Among those who were present in the press-conference were Neha Choudhary, Urvashi Gupta, Anju Kumari, Santoshi Bhagat and Sonika Sharma. |
