Jammu-Delhi Go Air flight cancelled at eleventh hour
'Irresponsible' management leaves passengers in lurch
2/25/2018 11:35:14 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 25: The alleged irresponsible attitude of Go-Air management at the Jammu airport on Saturday morning left over one hundred passengers stranded, as the flight was cancelled at the eleventh hour.
The management of Go-Air allegedly failed to address the grievances of the gullible marooned passengers at Jammu airport, who were running helter-skelter in absence of clear instructions from management.
A Delhi bound passenger informed Early Times that on Saturday morning she reached Jammu airport to take Go-Air flight, scheduled to take off at 10:55 AM. "Till 11:15, it was total confusion about the fate of scheduled flight as there was no announcement on the airport. On the display boards, a message regarding delay in flight was blinking but there were no details", she said.
She further said that after 11:15 AM, an announcement was made regarding the cancellation of flight. "We all were under shock over the cancellation but the irresponsible management of Go-Air added to our woes. There was no employee or management official present there to give any information about the future course of action", Stella Paul, a passenger said.
She further said that finally an employee of Go-Air arrived there but when the passengers asked him some questions, he evaded all the queries and started chatting over phone. He said that a higher official would soon reach there and respond to passengers' queries.
She further informed that after more than 15 minutes, the Station Incharge of Go-Air reached there, who said that the flight had been cancelled and the passengers could take their refund. "When some passengers got infuriated, an arrogant employee of Go-Air said that on the website, you should read the terms and conditions during cancellation of the flight", another passenger said.
"Many passengers had next flight from New Delhi and without getting flight from Jammu, they had to bear financial losses and lot of inconvenience, but the Go-Air management treated passengers badly", the passenger said.
The passengers further said that when the news about cancellation of Go-Air flight went public the other airline carriers, increased their fares abruptly. "It was simply loot of the passengers by the airlines", the passenger said.
Talking to Early Times, The officials of Go-Air at Jammu Airport said that due to technical snag at Leh, the flight was cancelled. "On 25th of February, the flight was not available so the passengers were given the option of February 26. We had also given the option of providing Innova cars to passengers for their journey. All arrangements were made as per the terms and conditions", the official said.
