Musical concert 'Anjusha Live' organized at Katra

Katra, Feb 28: Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra showcased a musical concert 'Anjusha Live' featuring promising young singer Anjusha Sharma and her band at the majestic Matrika Auditorium, SMVD University, Katra.
At the very outset, Regional Director of ICCR Jammu and Kashmir Balwant Thakur informed that ICCR always endeavors to give a platform to the promising talents under its popular programme 'Horizon Series'. The prime mandate of Indian Council for Cultural Relations is to take India to the world and bring world to India.
In the process of taking India to the world ICCR keep looking for outstanding talents in Music, Dance, Drama, Fine Arts, literature and the Horizon Series is one of the important series where the talents to be showcased in International performances are spotted and considered, based on their quality of performances.
While welcoming the august gathering President Board of Cultural activities Dr. Varun Tripathi assured all possible help from the University for the presentation of such programmes which are aimed at educating the fraternity of students about the rich cultural heritage.
Introducing to the audiences, Balwant Thakur informed that Reasi born Anjusha Sharma shot to fame after becoming the winner of All India Devotional Songs Competition. She recently conducted an International tour of performances and held successful shows in Canada and British Columbia. A proud participant on the National TV in the programmes Like Zee Hero SaReGaMa, Aawaaz Punjab Di and Indian Idol, Anjusha also has two musical albums entitled 'Suit Patiala' and Rang Sanwala to her credit. As a singer of a new generation, she enjoys immense popularity on social media for her live video concerts.
A programme 'Anjusha Live' started with the screening of a video of her album 'Rang Sanwala' which has already been viewed by over one million audiences on YouTube. The moment Anjusha came on stage, she vibrated the entire auditorium through her powerful singing. With the accompaniment of heavy rhythms, she prompted everyone to tap with the tunes of her songs. Those who accompanied her include Pawan Jogi (Dhol), Krishan Kumar (Keyboard), Binny Khokhar (Octopod) and Marwin Soltra (Dholak). The programme was professionally anchored by Dharun Kesar and light, sound and projections were aesthetically handled by Gaurav Jamwal.
