| Jammu based PDP leaders feel humilated, insulted as party adopts parochial approach | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Feb 28: After snacting one MLC seat from the quote of Jammu region, top leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is now ignoring party worker from this region. Instead of giving importance to party workers, working since formation of the party in 1999, the incumbent PDP leadership is patronizing only workers from other areas and those who have recently joined the party.
Credible sources in the PDP said that senior party leaders and ministers have given directions to their personal staff not to arrange meeting with Jammu based leaders. A senior party told on the condition of anonymity that for the last 15 days he has been asking for meeting with a minister but he is not getting time. "Every time I have been told that minister sahib is busy. But on the other hand same minister is giving time to workers from other areas", he said and disclosed that Jammu based workers of PDP are treated as second class workers in the party.
Credible sources in the party further revealed that after demise of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP top leadership is not treating Jammu leaders properly and many times senior leaders were humiliated.
But is more humiliating for the Jammu based workers that Jammu office of the party has been virtually hijacked by office bearers from Kashmir who is arranging meeting of party workers with ministers. Instead of giving importance to the requests of Jammu based workers, meeting of only Kashmir workers are usually arranged with the ministers, sources said and most of the senior party leaders are feeling humilated and insulted in the party. |
