One vehicle lifter held, six stolen vehicles recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 28: In continuation to operation "CHETAK" a special drive against vehicle theft cases launched by Jammu Police, under the supervision of SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta today Janipur police apprehended one vehicle lifter and recovered six stolen vehicles. Police spokesman said that on 22nd Feb of 2018, one Abdul Raheem Rather of Veersaran Pahalgam Srinagar presently staying at Roop Nagar Jammu lodged a written complaint at Janipur police station that some unknown person stolen his vehicle (TAVERA) bearing registration number JK03C-7051 from near Green Land Palace, Lower Roop Nagar Jammu. "On this, a case under FIR No. 18/2018 under relevant sections of law was registered at Janipur police station and investigation was started", said spokesman adding that during the course of investigation several suspects were rounded up and efforts were continued to recover the stolen vehicle. Spokesman further said that today one suspect namely Umar Mir of Pull Doda presently staying at Lakshmi Puram Chinore Jammu was apprehended and during questioning he admitted his involvement in above said theft case. On his disclosure, one Tavera one Santro, one maruti car, and three motorcycles were recovered from his possession. Spokesman futher added that the arrested also disclosed the names of other associates having the involvement in theft cases. The arrest and recovery was made by SHO Police station Janipur, SI Bimal Indu under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Jammu, Rajpaul Singh and SP City North Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar. |
