| AAP delegation calls on Div Com Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 28: A delegation of J&K AAP led by S. Deep Singh, National Council and Founder Member AAP called on Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and apprised him of the ban imposed by authorities on holding any sort of rally or DHARNA outside Press Club Jammu.
Taking the same as a sort of denial to the freedom of expression as envisaged in constitution of India, the deputationists brought to the notice of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu that " Jantar Mantar" is the place at the National Capital earmarked for holding Dharnas etc for the people of the Nation but denial of the same here in J&K where sufferings of the people are manifold due to the hostilities of our hostile neighboring country besides other domestic hardships, tantamount to denial of justice in the garb of Article 370 or any other law without application of mind by the state government.
Deputation also apprised the Divisional Commissioner about submission of a request letter before his predecessor on 23-02-2016 but no step was/is taken so far to fulfill the genuine demand of public or its representatives.
The deputationists strongly demanded earmarking of any other suitable place with needed facilities for holding of Dharnas or public meetings to demonstrate public grievances and public resentment against the administration. Otherwise we will feel that we are being treated like the men in Syria, Pakistan or Libiya where no respect is shown towards fundamental rights of the citizens. Other prominent members of deputation were Sudarshan Singh Jamwal, Subash Chander, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Ram Singh Chouhan and Rameshwar Singh Samyal. |
