Early Times Report Rajouri, Feb 28: All cases including those pending for the last many years, related to militancy and cross border firing/ mortar shelling have been cleared in Rajouri district. As many as 135 cases were cleared today in a meeting of District level coordination- cum-screening committee (DLCSC) which was chaired by, DDC. DLCSC comprising of Yougal Manhas, SSP; Khalid Amin, SP, CID; , Abdul Qayoom, additional district magistrate (ADM); Abdul Sattar, SDM, Nowshera; BSF & CRPF Commandants; tehsildars from Manjakot, Nowshera and Qilla Darhal and representatives from Infantry Division and Romeo Force---cleared all the pending 135 militancy related/ cross border shelling cases for compensation, relief and employment. Mohammed Shafait, Dnistrict Information Officer (DIO) said, DLCSC has approved compensation favour of 17 militancy related incidents which took place between 1998 to 2011 and since then were pending due to one or other deficiency of the documents. "The committee approved employment in favour of 12 cases and cash compensation of Rs 4 Lakhs in remaining 5 cases. Meanwhile, 28 cases approved earlier by the DLCSC for payment of cash compensation were decided to be submitted to General Administration Department (GAD) as next of kin(s) refused to take cash compensation" said DIO. Ninety-one cases of compensation related to cross border firing/ mortar shelling were also cleared which include 1 death case, 6-injuries, 51 -cases of damages to houses and 33 cases of deaths of live stock. Jobs under SRO-43 (militancy related )were provided to Mohd Maroof (2017), Ishtiaq Ahmed (2005), Mehtab ul Hassan (2001), Sanam Sharma (2002), Mohd Arif (2002), Liaqat Hussain (2001), Mohd Rafiq (1998), Badar Hussain (2002) Mohd Adrees (2001), Janak Singh (2003), Hanifa Begum (2003) and those sanctioned cash compensation include Shamim Akhter (1997), Mohd Ayub (2002), Zaheer Abass (2003), Mohd Freed (2005), Mohd Ishaq (2011). Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, DDDC has also announced Rs 20,000 cash award each in favour of Section Officer Relief and for lower staff in view of exceptional work for clearance of all pending cases. |
