JAMMU, Feb 28: Jammu and Kashmir Geo-Spatial Data Centre, Survey of India, Jammu celebrated "National Science Day" today at its premises Nagrota, Jammu. On this occasion, an exhibition was organized. Visitors from various departments and school children accompanied by teachers were present during the occasion. During the exhibition different kinds of maps/digital maps, prepared by Survey of India and modern instruments/ technologies being used for mapping i.e. Global Positioning System (GPS), Digital Level, Total Station, Mobile Mapping System, and GPS with PC Tablet etc. were displayed by this office. The preparation of map using satellite imagery and other digital techniques of mapping were explained to the visitors. |
