| Deptts hold sports meet to ‘digest’ funds | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Feb 28: Many departments in border district Poonch are engaged in misappropriating the funds as financial year is coming to an end on 31 March.
According to sources, many departments including Public Works (R&B) Department, Flood control and irrigation department, department of municipal corporation, Labour Department, Rural Development Department and Panchayat and even army and police are conducting awareness camps and tournaments of different sports in many areas of district Poonch.
The sources added that the departments are sanctioning construction and restoration works to some blue eyed contractors on fixed commission.
They informed early times that all the departments are conducting awareness camps during the months of February and March this year to digest funds released for public development.
Many locals from rural areas of border district Poonch have informed our correspondent that, most of the district, block and tehsil level officers remaining absent from their offices during these two months and make illegal bills at their residential quarters. They have appealed to investigation agencies to investigate all those works which department complete or start during January to March this year. |
