Police arrest women for violating Sec 144 | More drama in Asifa Bano Murder case | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 28: Already mired in political overtone, the infamous Asifa Bano rape and murder case is enacting more drama as police on Wednesday arrested women of the families that had migrated from Rasana village alleging harassment by the Crime branch of J&K Police. As per reports, police arrested some women along with two former sarpanchs identified as Kant Kumar and Bhagmal Khajuria, both members of Hindu Ekta Manch, allegedly for violating section 144 imposed by district administration. As this news broke, large number of people under the banner of Hindu Ekta Manch assembled and took out protest march which was led by advocate Vijay Sharma. Large number of people from adjoining villages of Hiranagar including youth and women also reached police station Hiranagar and started shouting slogan against the CM Mehbooba Mufti and coalition government. They demanded CBI inquiry into the incident and also end to the alleged harassment of the youth of a particular community in the name of investigation. Meanwhile DC Kathua said that the arrests were made for the violation of sec-144 which was imposed by the administration. |
