DHSK violating transfer policy, alleges RTI applicant

Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Mar 23: In blatant violation of the transfer policy set by the department an RTI reply has revealed that Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has violated the norms by posting the doctors in the hospitals for over two years or more.
The RTI applicant had sought details about the total number of doctors posted at five hospitals in the valley along with their names and joining dates. The applicant, Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Dagga has alleged that the information given by the department is wrong and misleading. The RTI application was moved on March 6, 2018.
Dr Riyaz told Early Times that blue-eyed doctors are given plum posting and some are even paying money to the direction office to avoid the transfer and those doctors who raise their voices against such issue are being harassed by the department. "The irony is that the details provided in an RTI are absolutely wrong," said Dagga.
The RTI reveals that the joining date of Medical Superintendent in at Police Hospital is 08-09-2016. Dagga, however, alleges that the said doctor is at police hospital for more than a decade now. He said that as per rules and regulations, doctor should be transferred after two years.
Moreover, RTI reveals that there are few doctors that are working in PCR hospital for more than 10 years now. "So far I have received the details of PCR hospital only and as I get details from other hospitals more things would be cleared and revealed," he adds.
"Since the information is wrong and misleading, I will go for the first appeal," says Dagga. Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman couldn't be contacted for his comments.
