Sehrai dashes Malik's dream to replace Geelani
Pak stooges fight it out

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23: Bosses of separatists sitting across the Line of Control have started projecting Ashraf Sehrai as their new stooge in Kashmir and have almost sidelined Hurriyat dove Mirwiaz Umar Farooq and so-called JKLF chief Yasin Malik.
Sources told Early Times that Hurriyat hawk Geelani passed on the baton of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat to Sehrai due to the pressure mounted by the people sitting across the LoC. "Since 2008, Malik had been trying to project himself as a hardliner. His only aim was to replace Geelani and become close to people handling the separatists," they said.
"Malik tried his best to come close to Mumbai attack mastermind and the US designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed so that people sitting in Pakistan could repose faith in him," sources said. "Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who during Mushraff's regime was acknowledged by Pakistan as their registered man, was sidelined soon after Mushraff was ousted from power."
An insider said that during all these years, separatist handlers were banking on Geelani but they have dumped him to introduce a new face Sehrai, who is a senior leader of Jamaat-i-Islami and has followed the diktats of his Pak bosses for his entire life.
Separatist handlers sidelining Malik would not have gone well with him. "Malik is believed to have been the mastermind behind 2016 unrest in Kashmir. He tried his best to come into the good books of the separatist handlers. He tried his best to project himself as an alternative for Geelani but he couldn't make much impact as his bosses preferred Sehrai over him," the insider added.
He said, "Malik had even formed the so-called Joint Resistance Leadership just to prove it to his handlers that he can do anything. His only aim was to ensure that he takes over from Geelani and emerges as leader. Soon after JRL comprising Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik was formed, Malik ensured that Mirwaiz is sidelined."
Sources said that separatist camp in Kashmir is in complete disarray with different people pushing in different directions. "The so-called JRL would split now as Malik has not got what he wanted. Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz has almost deserted the JRL and is maintaining distance from Malik and Geelani," they added.
"In coming days we may see many related developments and infighting among separatists is inevitable. Its just matter of days when we will see separatists washing their dirty linen in public," they said.
