Rajouri, Apr 1: Although the union government provided employment to the people living below the poverty line under a scheme Mahatma Gandhi National Rozgar Empowerment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for rural areas of the nation but this scheme is looking failure in Thana Mandi tehsil and Manjakote Rajouri district.
Sources said all the workers who have worked under said scheme during 2015 session are still waiting their wages. Some locals of Danna, Alal, Karyote, Barhoon and Kalaban koti surrounding namely Lal Hussain, Mohammad Afzal, Fazal Hussain, Mohammad Shakoor and many others have informed early times that, they had done their works during financial year 2015, and are still waiting for their payments.
They further said, even they have approached to higher authorities of the department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj but all in vain, because department is showing it's inability in this regard. Locals have appealed to DDC Rajouri to look into the matter at earliest. |
