4/3/2018 12:01:05 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 2: To lodge its protest against the unwanted move of the traffic police to remove Rehdi-Fadis of poor workers, the Rehdi-Fadi Workers Union (RFWU)- Jammu, continued its demonstration on 9th day today under the banner of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) near Press Club of Jammu.
A large number of Rehri-Fadi workers across the Jammu city, who attended the protest, said that their livelihoods depend only on their small businesses.
Shouting slogans in favour of their demands and restoration of their Rehdi-Fadi at their prevous locations, the protesters appealed the state government to stop harassing them.
Addressing the protesting workers, Om Parkash, general secretary CITU condemned the continued move of Traffic Police Jammu to forceful removal of Rehdi-Fadi, brutal beating of the poor workers, destroying purchasable materials and snatching cash while rendering hundreds of these poor daily earners jobless. He said that these poor workers are neither demanding employment nor promotion nor increment from the government but they are demanding to let them continue their self-employed jobs. He urged upon the present dispensation to allow the poor workers to reinstall their Rehdi-Fadi at their existing place, pay compensation to the poor workers for the loss they suffered and strict action against the persons responsible for unlawful detention of poor workers.
