Mendhar, July 30: People of village Harni today staged a protest against Power Development Department (PDD) and blocked the Mendhar Suran road near main Bazar Harni.
The protest was taken out against snapping of power supply for the last over one month. The villagers of Harni gathered in main Bazar Harni and staged protest demonstration against PDD.
The protestors also blocked the road in main bazar for about three hours and disrupted vehicular traffic. They alleged that the power transformer of the area broke-down one month ago but despite assurances by concerned PDD officials/officers, the transformer was not replaced.
They said that in this hot and humid weather, they are without power for last one month but officials of PDD are not paying heed to their repeated requests to replace the faulty transform with a new one.
Later, Naib Tehasil Harni Aftab Hussain Shah and Naib Tehasil Mendhar Tarif Hussain Shah reached the spot and pacified the protesting people by assuring them restoration of power supply by tomorrow, following which protesting people lifted the blockade. |
