Change of guard in JU goes unnoticed in DDE
7/30/2018 11:56:53 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: It has surfaced from a selfie taken by a Coordinator for semester 3rd Dr Hina S Abrol during admission process that for Prof Darshana Sharma, Director Distance Education Department, the former Vice Chancellor Prof Ramji Dass Sharma and Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister, are still VC and Pro-Chancellor of Jammu University.
Sources informed that affection and impression of outgoing VC, Prof Dass for Director DDE are so indelible that photos both of Prof Dass and Mehbooba Mufti continue to be a part of decoration of the office of Director DDE/Committee Room as if the latter is unaware about the change of guard in the varsity Jammu, with the appointment of Prof. Manoj Dhar as new VC.
Sources further divulged that as head of the institution, Prof Sharma should focus her attention towards grievances of new students seeking admission in BA first and third semesters in DDE who are reportedly being put to great harassment by admission committee.
Sources alleged that teachers under the administrative control of Director DDE are making the students to shuttle here and there for bringing migration certificate, character certificate, affidavit, etc.
Sources pointed out that as a matter of official procedure, there should been a check list of formalities required by the new entrants and conspicuously pasted on the notice board or awareness created through wide advertisements instead of asking the students in haphazard manner for such formalities creating embarrassment and unnecessary wastage of time. This awfully reflects upon the sorry state of administrative affairs prevailing in DDE.
Lambasting the lack of control of Director DDE on her subordinates, sources told that teachers assigned the job of admission do not come in time to attend the work of admission committee BA Semester 1st , 3rd and students have to hanker after left or right for seeking admission with no one to take care of the growing grievances of young students coming from far flung areas.
Sources urged the new VC Prof Manoj Dhar to look into the grievances of students seeking admission in DDE and take remedial measures to set the deteriorating administrative system in DDE.
