SRINAGAR, July 30: At a time when tourist season is on in Kashmir valley and tourists from across the globe are visiting here, it has come to fore that agents or brokers are selling gondola tickets at cheaper rates, causing loss to the exchequer.
According to sources, the agents at Gulmarg are selling the gondola tickets to the local and national tourists at cheaper rates than the actual official rates.
"Today I was surprised to find some brokers at the entry point of Cable Car Corporation (CCC) near gondola main office luring the visitors to buy the tickets at cheaper rates," said sources.
"After seeing this, I also approached towards the broker who said 'buy gondola ride ticket from us, we sell it at cheaper rates that the official rates'," a source said.
The actual price of the gondola ticket is Rs 1690, but these agents sell it at just Rs 1300.
This is peak tourist season especially for Gulmarg, and around 10 thousand local and national tourists visit Gulmarg every day.
Most of the pilgrims who come for Amarnath yatra also visit Gulmarg and stay here for two to three days. |
