Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: Undeterred by the criticism it has received for its alleged mismanagement, the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is again drawing flak for allowing re-conduct of Zoology examination.
KAS aspirants have shown resentment against the decision of JKPSC to re-conduct the mains exam of Zoology Paper 1.
They have alleged that all candidates must be provided with level playing field and re-conduct of any optional gives an edge to the candidates.
The KAS 2016 Mains exam commenced from July 2 for the recruitment of 277 posts advertised by JKPSC.
The Zoology Paper 1 scheduled on July 16 was conducted in two examination centres across the state-one in Jammu and one in Kashmir.
The examination centre in Jammu was at JKPSC head office. As per the notification by JKPSC dated 27.07.18, some of the candidates during the exam on 16.07.18 protested against the 'out of syllabus' paper of Zoology 1.
Some of the candidates also resorted to misbehaviour and misconduct and even left the examination hall.
On the basis of report submitted by the invigilator and observer, they have asked to re-conduct the exam as some of the aspirants might have resorted to unfair means.
Looking at the matter JKPSC decided to re-conduct the Zoology Paper 1.
But the KAS aspirants have asked why there was no enquiry ordered into the matter. "Why was there delay to issue the notification and why the candidates of Zoology have been given extra 10 days to prepare for the exam," an aspirant asked.
"Also, why no one is held responsible for the misconduct and misbehave? Why the candidature of the aspirants involved in misconduct and misbehaviour shouldn't be rejected?
