Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: In brazen violation of the directives of Governor NN Vohra that all the orders issued by the previous Peoples Democratic Party led regime on its last day in power be revoked forthwith, the Higher Education Department has upheld the transfers and elevation of "influential" uncle of a PDP leader who was given a prime posting.
Official documents reveal that the allegedly influential official was elevated as Registrar Cluster University Srinagar on June 19, when the BJP pulled out of the alliance forcing the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to resign.
The sources in Cluster University Srinagar admitted that the orders were executed in "violation of norms but that there were political pressures."
Sources said the "influential person" who was serving as principal Degree College Ganderbal was given the sensitive charge when senior officials in the administration wanted to keep hi

away from any such sensitive assignments.
"Basically this man enjoyed Ashirwad of the PDP leadership and it was because of it that he was allowed to join as the Registrar despite the orders of the Governor NN Vohra in place," said a senior official in the Cluster University of Srinagar.
"Some of higher ups received a phone call that this person should be made to join as the orders of his elevated posting as Registrar were beyond the direct jurisdiction of Governor's Rule," the official sources added.
On June 20, hours after Jammu and Kashmir came under president's rule, the Governor held a meeting with senior administrative officers.
Among other instructions, the Governor directed the J&K Government to put in abeyance all orders as issued on the previous day by any of the offices.
Despite repeated attempts the Registrar Cluster University of Srinagar couldn't be contacted for comments.
