NO promotion without finalizing tentative seniority list: HC 7/30/2018 10:03:31 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: In a petition filed by Nittin Verma and Ors, Justice Sanjeev Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir High Court after hearing Adv Rajesh Bhushan directed that no promotion to the post of Assistant Engineers (Electric) substantive or temporary in PDD shall be made without first finalizing the tentative seniority list issued vide circular No 1 -PDD of 2018 dated 12.01.2018. The claim of the petitioners is that Pursuant to the Advertisement Notice no. 04 of 2004 dated 23.09.2004, the petitioners applied for the post of Junior Engineer in Power Development Department (PDD). The petitioners were appointed as Junior Engineers (Electrical) in year 2007. Although the petitioners were entitled to be placed in the seniority list of Degree holder Junior Engineers yet their name was reflected in the seniority list of Junior Engineers (Electric), Diploma holders. Therefore, pursuant to the direction in aforestated circular dated 04-04-2016, the petitioners filed the objections to the said tentative seniority wherein it was the specific prayer of the petitioners that their name be placed in the seniority list of degree holders. Justice Sanjeev Kumar after hearing Adv Rajesh Bhushan, for the petitioners, observed when the circular dated 04.04.2016 was issued, their names were not reflected in the seniority list of degree holders but after inviting objections, another tentative seniority list was issued vide circular 01 of PDD 2018 dated 12.01.2018, wherein the grievance of the petitioners came to be redressed and they were indicated in the seniority list of Graduate Junior Engineers. This petition has been filed by the petitioners on the apprehension that there is a move in the Administrative Department to revert to the aforesaid seniority as was contained in the tentative list issued in 2016.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
