Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 5: Police have booked Executive Officer (EO) and Khiafwarzi Officer of Thanamandi Municipal Committee in Rajouri district reportedly over allegations of forgery of valuable security, considering forged documents as genuine etc.
Reliable sources said that two complaints were reportedly made against the accused persons including release of the payments to blue eyed against existing units under Individual household latrines (IHHL) under 'swachh bharat mission' (urban & rural) and backdoor appointments of casual/need base workers.
During visit of former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to Thanamandi, few people lodged complaint about backdoor appointments of casual/need base workers at Thanamandi MC from other parts of the district and their names were uploaded in the computer also. An investigation was ordered in this matter and on directions from higher ups an inquiry was conducted by Iftikar Ahmed, SDPO Thanamandi reportedly under the supervision of DDC & SSP.
During investigation it was established that the present EO, Kabir Malik had served in the MC, Thanamandi in 2012 also and he again joined at Thanamandi in 2017 and in violation of government order and in nexus with other officials of MC including khiafwarzi inspector, he has shown these casual/need base workers on regular basis between 2012 and 2015.
"The inquiry report was submitted and on the directions from the higher authorities a case under sections 467, 468,471 & 420 has been registered against Kabir Malik, EO and Khali Ahmed, Khiafwarzi officer at Thanamndi police station. Denying the allegations Kabir Malik, EO said after his joining at Thanamndi only one computer technician was appointed that too on the behest of senior officials.
About 16 casual/need base workers have been shown working with MC, Thanamandi but physically they remain absent after marking their presence, he added.
