10/5/2018 10:52:22 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 5: Differences have surfaced among Kashmiri Pandits over participation of elections in the state.
While some groups within the community including Panun Kashmir and Kashmir Samiti Delhi are openly opposing the elections and accuse BJP of making the community people as scape goats by fielding its candidates in municipal elections in Valley.
However not agreeing with their views some KP organizations fully support the decision saying this step will be a turning point in Kashmir politics.
Sampooran Kashmir Sangathan (SKS) an organisation of displaced Pandits has not only endorsed the decision but said it will be a turning point in Kashmir politics and pave way for honurable rehabilitation of KPs in Valley.
SKS while taking the full credit of involving KPs in poll process in a statement said they discussed the issue with three Union ministers including Dr Jitendra Singh and Mukhtar Abass Naqvi.
The SKS which has tied up with BJP and fielded it's candidates on BJP ticket has said that the elections will open a door for KPs return and rehabilitation.
They said the KP candidates will hold dialogue with civil societies of Kashmir in restoration of normalcy in Valley.
The decision of participating in the elections by KPs has also been endorsed by All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) led by Desh Ratan which too had fielded it's candidates in Municipal elections.
The migrant Cell of Congress and BJP has welcomed the decision.
But the Panun Kashmir, Kashmir Samiti Delhi (KSD) has opposed the decision and accused the BJP and Government in Fielding KP candidates and making them a scape goat.
The KSD said that the elections are meaningless for Pandits as they are living in exile for last 30 years and they are not willing to participate in poll. He said the displaced Pandits are for carving out a homeland as per Margdarshan resolution of 1991 and nothing short of this will be acceptable to the community.
