Two committee members of JKCA resign, allege CEO of overstepping mandate
10/5/2018 10:49:41 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 5: Committee members of Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and Shiban Lal Tarkroo today resigned from their positions.
Both Ashraf and Shiban submitted their resignation to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), JKCA at Srinagar.
"We were associated with you to run the affairs of the association till the elections of JKCA are held after the house is set in order. The Hon'ble High Court also appointed an ombudsman giving him time frame of two months and mandate to settle the disputes of some clubs affiliated to JKCA," said the committee members in their resignation letter.
The committee members said that they did their bit and gave opinions, but unfortunately on some key issues they were not taken on board.
We also conveyed our displeasure regarding the appointment of coaches/mentor but to no avail.
We were shocked to learn that a constitution has been registered with registrar of society, Srinagar in which all the affiliated clubs have been de-affiliated and some district cricket associations have been given affiliation, they said.
"We were at no stage consulted on any matter related to framing or registering the amended constitution. These are the basic fundamental units of the association and have in fact founded the J&K Cricket Association. lf you pursue the constitution of JKCA it is the Kashmir cricket club that has taken the initiative for the formation of the constitution of JKCA. How can the administrators take a decision of de-affiliating the founding members of the association?" said the committee members.
The committee members said that Chief Executive Officer has overstepped mandate given to him by the Court.
This action has even made the appointment of ombudsman by the Court as irrelevant and is in total violation of Court direction to you as such we will have no other option but to withdraw from the committee if the said constitution is not withdrawn with immediate effect.
