JAMMU, Oct 5: Three-day CBSE Kabaddi XVI Cluster opened at the Stephens International School on Friday, 5th October, 2018. The cluster event was inaugurated by Sham Lal Chaudhary, former cabinet minister in the state government.
The ceremony began with the Tilak and bouquet presentation to the distinguished guests by the Chairman, Dr. Kamal Saini Retd. IGP (IPS) and Director, Satvinder Saini , which was followed by lighting of lamp and flag hoisting by the distinguished guests and Rashpal Singh, CBSE Observer. The former minister declared the meet open by releasing the balloons and the pigeons.
In her address the director of the school Saini said, "Numerous physical benefits of sports include maintaining a healthy weight, preventing chronic diseases and learning the skills necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
" A cultural bonanza comprising of dogri music and dance added glory to the occasion. The CBSE flag and National Flag were hoisted and the National Anthem was sung with a great spirit of patriotism.
Marchpast, which is about synchornization and team work, was presented by all the teams. The Principal, Manoj Agnihotri, welcomed all and emphasized on the importance of sports for the overall development of the students. Rama Jamwal, Dean Academics presented the vote of thanks. She added that Sports Meets such as this gain a special significance in the present day strife torn scenario, as this will act as a unifying bond of bringing about a spirit of companionship and nurture global partners.
All the dignitaries including the vice-chairman, Amarjeet Singh, and the Head Mistress, Inderjeet Kaur, extended their best wishes and good luck to the twenty four participating teams.
The opening ceremony which was attended by the parents and media people was fun-filled and a grand success.
