Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 21: The former Health Minister and senior Congress leader Taj Mohiddin acted as the "Betaj Baadshah" of the health department during his tenure, sources told Early Times on Thursday. They said Taj altered the plan to establish Urology and Nephrology, Neurology and Neuro Surgery, Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery departments at Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) here. "He (Taj) suddenly ordered the officials to establish Gastroenterology department at SSH ostensibly to appoint his men illegally and to install machines, which were procured after spending lakhs of rupees. He threw all the norms to winds and acted like a dictator to get his way," they added. Sources said that Taj tried to "bury his misdeed" and tried to legalize the department by issuing an order number 220-HME of 2014 for creation of new Gastroenterology department after segregating it from Department of Medicines in the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu on April 23, 2014."
