Tribune winds up its offices in J&K, many dailies curtail staff
8/25/2021 12:07:57 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: The J&K administration has been trumpeting that it’s creating new employment avenues in the Union Territory and is facilitating the outside business houses to invest in J&K, but the ground situation contradicts these claims. The big brands that were brought to J&K by the former regimes have wind up their operations in the UT and have called it a day. The erstwhile governments had brought newspapers like Tribune to Jammu and Kashmir and it had employed a good number of people. But the Tribune had to wind up its Jammu and Srinagar offices as it didn’t get the requisite support from the J&K administration during the past two years. Similarly many dailies having staff strength of more than 150 have curtailed their staff due to management not getting much support from the authorities. The bureaucrats are trying to muzzle the genuine voice by resorting to pressure tactics.” An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “When erstwhile J&K state was transformed into a Union Territory and its special status was revoked people were told that ...

Gupkar Alliance rakes up local versus outside issue to reach out to Jammu residents
Arrogant Babus provide an opportunity to PAGD to involve annoyed Jammuities in its campaign
8/25/2021 12:07:30 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: The Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on Tuesday vociferously raked up local versus outside issues to exploit the prevailing governance deficit in the J&K administration. It is the first time that PADG has raised this issue because the experienced leadership of the alliance has realized that it is high time to encash prevailing anger among people against the present regime due to the style of functioning of some Babus who are taking people of the UT, especially of Jammu region ‘for granted’. As the Babus have snapped all communications with common people, Gupkar Alliance steps in to exploit this situation by raking up local versus outs...

Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: Artists of the Jammu region are up in arms against the much-touted new film policy announced by the J&K government on August 5 on the occasion of the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A. Addressing a joint press conference artists and film producers of Jammu regrated that the Jammu region is completely ignored by those who were involved in formulating this policy. “Jammu has huge p...
