Jammu, Aug 16: A pregnant woman passenger during her journey to SMGS Hospital Jammu delivers a male baby in a coach of Jammu Mail here today, sources said.
As per reports, a couple, hailing from village Ponthal, Manwal was on way to SMGS Hospital, Jammu for her medical checkup when the lady identified namely as Nisha Devi developed labour pain during her journey. However on reaching Jammu at Platform Number 1, her husband immediately rushed to the Railway Administration and GRP leaving the lady in coach and sought help from the GRP. Extending helping hand, the senior officers of the Railway Department including Station Master Ashwani Kumar pressed the service of the railway doctor who administrated initial medicare care, sources said.
"While they were arranging for ambulance, the woman gave birth to male child. Both mother and child were later taken to the hospital for further medical treatment," they added.
