Jammu, Apr 4: Chief Minister and the working president of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah has predicted clean sweep by coalition candidates in the state in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. Addressing an impressive gathering at the residence of party vice president and former Minister Sardar Harbans Singh here Friday, Omar said that the Coalition candidates have no real challenge ahead of them and shall easily emerge victorious on all six parliamentary seats of the state. Coming down heavily against the BJP, Omar said that the saffron party was pursuing divisive agenda and there was no wave in favour of BJP or its prime ministerial candidate Narender Modi as being propagated. Omar went on to predict a third term for UPA at the centre. Earlier, Omar Abdullah was welcomed by S. Harbans Singh by presenting traditional Saropa. He assured the Chief Minister of overwhelming support of the party cadre and people of Jammu cantonment Assembly constituency in favour of the coalition candidate. He also assured the CM of untiring efforts of the workers and supporters to ensure the victory of alliance candidate. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Devender Rana, provincial president and MLC, Ajay Sadhotra, Minister for Planning, Bimla Luthra, MLA, and office bearers of the party, Rajesh Bakshi, Surinder Singh Jamwal Parvinder Singh, Akhtar Hussain, besides a handsome gathering of party workers and supporters. |
