JKNPP lodges complaint against Omar for violating MCC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: In an written complaint with Complaint Monitoring Cell (election office) district president of J&K National Panther Party (JKNPP) has alleged that the Chief Minister has violated Model Code of Conduct at Rajouri by making announcement that Pahari Speaking Community will be provided Scheduled Tribe Status by the coalition Government before the next Assembly elections. More than 30 lac Paharis are the inhabitants of Rajouri and Poonch districts (in Jammu province) and Uri Karnah, Kupwara districts (in Kashmir province). Advocate Rajesh Sharma, district president JKNPP in his written complaint along with press cuttings have alleged that the Chief Minister has violated the MCC and has demanded action by the senior Election Authorities in this matter. On Thursday while addressing a public rally at Rajouri in favor of coalition partner Madan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister had said that the Scheduled Tribe (ST) status is a long pending demand of the Paharis and the State Government had taken the matter with the Union Government. But due to some reason no response was received from the Union Government and it was also in the manifesto of National Conference (in 2008) so coalition Government will provide ST status to Paharis before the next Assembly election by using our own resources without affecting the reservations already provided to Scheduled Tribes (ST). Nodal Officer Complaint Monitoring Cell has forwarded the complaint to the MCC, Nodal Officer for further action. Farooq Ahmed Shah, MCC, Nodal Officer while confirming the complaint against Chief Minister said that after verifying videos of the Chief Minister's rally and going through the press cutting the complaint will be forwarded to higher election authorities for their consideration /action. |
