Cong doubts NC's Modi bashing | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: The Congress party is miffed over credible inputs of National Conference putting up a facade of Modi bashing but working overnight of trying to stitch a covert understanding with the BJP. The Central leadership has categorically told its alliance partner that any further movement in this regard could prove detrimental to the alliance especially in forth coming Assembly election. "We checked with intelligence agencies and also from our own network that the reason for strong Modi bashing by the NC is just a façade. Party is trying to put up a face that it's strong alliance of the Congress but covertly it's working in the reverse direction," said a senior Cong leader. The Cong is checking the credibility of pretence of its allies of swearing by the alliance in the Congress. It is already miffed over reports of Lalu Parsad secretly getting close with Narendra Modi. "If a leader like Lalu, who had Advani arrested, is trying to get close with the Modi then what can be expected from the NC which in the past has been member of the NDA," said the Cong leader. The National Conference has been consistently trying approaching the BJP fearing that change in the Government could pose danger to it. The real reason that Central Government has an important role in elections in the Valley, the base of the NC. The Central Government can take strict action against poll boycott calls, can take serious note if there is killing which can result in less poll percentage, which has traditionally been the real reason of NC winning from the valley. "NC knows that if there is BJP led Government in the Centre than it's chance of manipulating elections can be in real danger. This is one thing the party doesn't want as it is on decline in the Valley and if polls are held in conducive and peaceful atmosphere then it's sure packing for the party. It's the fear which is lurking the party, and for which it's putting pretence of Modi bashing to keep both the Cong and the BJP in the loop," said a senior cong leader. |
