Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tourney
Solitary goal win for Young Rovers

JAMMU, April 04: Young Rovers registered a solitary goal win against Musa Club to make it to the next round of the ongoing Ist Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here today.
The only goal of the match came through a penalty awarded in the last 65th minute. The penalty was awarded to Young Rovers on a foul play by Musa Club in the penalty area while defending an opponent goal attempt.
However, Musa Club expressed their dissatisfaction over the referee decision and the whole team left the field in protest. Finding Musa Club not willing to return to the field even after persuasion by the organisers, the referee awarded the match to Young Rovers.
Earlier, for his foul play, Vishal Dogra of Musa Club shown yellow card by the centre referee in the 50th minute of the match.
Young Rovers’ goal-keeper, Divakar Singh was declared man of the match. Today match officiated by the technical penal including Suresh Kumar Gupta, Rinku Gill, Pankaj Kumar and Rajesh Sumbria.

NEXT MATCH: Young Heroes shall take on Jammu Sports at 4 pm tomorrow.



Inter-department tourney of Polytechnic College

Mechanical Department wins volleyball trophy

JAMMU, April 04: Mechanical Engineering Department clinched the title trophy in the inter-department volleyball tournament of Government Polytechnic College, here today.
In the final, Mechanical Department outplayed Electrical Engineering Department 3-1 (21-24, 24-20, 24-19, 24-22) to claim the rolling trophy.
Principal of the College, Arun Bangotra was chief guest in the final, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies. He appreciated the enthusiasm among the students amidst assurance of making sports events a regular feature in the College.
In all, eight teams, representing various departments, contested for the top honours in this knock-out competition.
The competition held under the supervision of Physical Education Master of Sports Department of the College, Rakesh Kakkar. He later presented vote of thanks.
Prominent among others present were Workshop Superintendent, Inderjeet Singh and Head of the Mechanical Department, KS Bhatia.

Domel Kesari dangal on April 6

Organised by Domel Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, the 25th Annual Domel Kesari Dangal shall take place at Domel on Jammu-Katra road on April six.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting under the supervision of president of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Among those who attended the meeting included Mohd. Sadiq, Romesh Chander, Jambal Dass, Makhan Lal, Punjabi Ram, Shanti Lal, Ram Kumar, Raj Kumar Seth, Puran Chand Panch, Raj Kumar, Sudershan Sharma and Davinder Kumar Sharma.

SVEEP team reaches out to pilgrims

JAMMU, April 04: To increase the reach to the masses spreading message of Right to Vote, the SVEEP Team Jammu today held an exhibition cum signature campaign at the shrine of Goddess Mata Kali at Bahu Fort, here today.
The campaign is being organised in collaboration with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting under the supervision of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jammu.
In a unique way the SVEEP team sensitized the pilgrims visiting the shrine on the importance of election process by specially designed reference boards, pictures, photographs and with the photographs of the activities underway.
A special signature book with appeal from District Election Officer, Jammu to cast vote on April 10 has also been placed at the venue wherein the pilgrims sign and voluntarily pledge to vote.
“The main aim of this campaign is to maximize the reach to the masses as lakhs of devotees visit the temple, mainly women folk and the youth and the message of importance of vote and the Right to Vote reaches to all,” an official of SVEEP Team Jammu told SAN.
