Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 4 : Jammu State Morcha has criticized both the coalition partners in state for continuous discrimination with the Jammu region. In this regard organization also decided not to support any political organization in state during Lok Sabha assembly elections. The decision was taken during a meet held under the chairmanship of its president, Virender Gupta the Morcha in which they shows their great concern and resentment on the Selection of Excise Inspectors, where out of 22 selected candidates; only 6 belong to Jammu province. The Morcha also expresses its concern on the fact that Jammu province was ill treated in the allotment of development funds for the districts of Jammu province for the years 2012-13 and 2013-14. These were about 30% less than those sanctioned for the districts in Kashmir Valley. Jammu province was further discriminated in the matter of sanctioning additional development funds for its districts. In the year 2012-13 districts in Jammu province were given Rs 334.22 lakh as additional development funds against Rs. 1047.82 lakh provided to the districts in Kashmir Valley; and in 2013-14 Jammu provinces got Rs112.74 lakh against 381.44 Lakh. As a Consequence Kashmir Valley was provided Rs 1429.26 lakh where as Jammu province got Rs 446.96 for two years, 2012-13 and 2013-14.
It is not equitable development that is strongly proclaimed by the Congress as well as National Conference. It is great shocking that none of the ministers/MLAs of Jammu province and in particularly Congress Party opposed this naked injustice with Jammu province. The organization leader expresses its anguish on the fact that Congress Party and leaders of Jammu province again failed to raise their voice against the neglect of lakes of Jammu province. The lakes of Jammu province like Surinsar, Mansar and Dalsar were intentionally kept out of the jurisdiction of Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) which was constituted in September 2005. The State Government only projected the case of conservation of Dal and Nageen lakes to the Union Ministery for Environment which sanctioned Rs 298.76 crores in 2005. This grant for the developments of Lakes was only utilized on Dal and Nigeen Lakes of Valley. Among those who were present in the meeting were Nathu Ram Gupta, Chandra Uday Sharma, Divender Singh Jamwal, Subash Sharma, Prof. Vijay Sharma, Vishav Bhandu Gupta,Rajeev Sharma, Surjeet Singh, R.C.Gupta, Rajinder Gupta and V.D.Dogra,
