Activists alleged being manhandled over his PIL against encroachment | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 4: An activist of Anna Hazare Movement against Corruption J&K alleged manhandling by some miscreants over filing of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking removal of encroachment and clear Nallaha from garbage, near Jeevan Nagar Chowk. As per press statement issued here today, Om Parkash, an activist of Anna Hazare Movement against Corruption J&K claimed that he was man handled over filing of PIL by some miscreants who allegedly barged into his house. Referring to his PIL, he claimed said that following directions of Division Bench issued to Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Cantonment Board to remove encroachment so that heavy machinery cane be moved to clear Nallah from garbage and slit from Nallah near Jeevan Nagar Chowk which otherwise is causing the overflowing of sewage water to nearby houses on both the sides of Landoi Choi Nallah. The activists stated that misguided by one Bharat Bushan (Pola) an elected member of Cantonment Board Ward No 7 Jammu Cantt some miscreants assembled outside the house of Om Parkash Sharma, a social worker and an Activist of Anna Hazare Movement against Corruption J&K on 02/04/2014 and abused Om Parkash Sharma and even manhandled him who later was saved by his wife. As per press release, Om Parkash Sharma was threatened to withdraw his PIL from the High Court otherwise face the consequences. Statement said that an FIR was already lodged in Police Station Satwari on 02.04.2014 in this regard. |
